Former Federal Emergency Management agency director Mike Brown tells NBC’s “Today” show “there was a disconnect” about what the Bush administration was saying about the situation, and how bad things actually were. So, Michael Brown has just blown the whistle on something that everyone already knew, and is 5 years old. Brownie, you’re doing a heck of a job.
Federal officials are seeking a record penalty of $24.2 million against American Airlines over maintenance lapses that caused thousands of canceled flights in 2008. In other news, it now costs $24.2 million to check bags on Ameican Airlines.
Stephen Strasburg has a torn elbow ligament and most likely needs Tommy John surgery, bringing the pitcher’s promising rookie season to an abrupt end. Experts say it’ll be the best Tommy John surgery in the past 40 years, doesn’t need the prep work that normal surgeries need, and will be worth the millions of millions of dollars in bonuses it will cost.
I’m no doctor…but I think this picture makes it pretty clear why he needs surgery.
